CGW Goes to the Colonial Tea Social

Put your best foot forward and come dressed to the nines for a delightful foray into the dances of the colonial era, hosted by the Historical Tea and Dance Society.  Beginners are welcome, with group dances featuring live music being called by James Hutson.  Light refreshments will be offered.  Make sure to purchase tickets in advance! Doors open at 2:15 pm.

CGW Goes to the Historical Tea and Dance Society’s Middle Earth Moonlight Summer Ball

“Speak friend and enter.” Our friends at the Historical Tea and Dance Society are throwing a Middle Earth-themed moonlight summer ball this September! Wizards, elves, hobbits, and humans are all invited to join for a BYO picnic feast followed by dancing until 10:00 pm. In true Shire fashion, the grass will be our dance floor, so comfortable and steady shoes are highly recommended. Beginner dancers and those with no experience are always welcome, but be warned: there shall be no admittance except on party business (i.e. you must purchase a ticket in advance)!

CGW Goes to Castle Green

Join us for this exciting event at the historic Castle Green (1898) in Pasadena. Explore the original Moorish and Turkish Rooms, Grand Salon, Palm Court, Lobby with the Grand Staircase and the fully restored Bridge interior plus visit many private units. Listen to experts discuss the history of the building and see our pop-up museum of artifacts from the Castle Green archives, including the castings of the “grotesques” and the decorative plaster work used to restore the Bridge exterior. Sip lemonade on the veranda and enjoy live entertainment.

We will meet near the Grand Staircase at 12pm to tour the building, then find a spot on the grounds for a late lunch (bring your own or pre-order from the Mary Lane Cafe).

CGW Goes to the Alice in Wonderland Tea Social DanceCGW Goes To The Alice in Wonderland Tea Social

Follow us down the rabbit hole to the Alice in Wonderland Dance hosted by the Historical Tea and Dance Society on May 5th.  Beginners are welcome at this lively event that features historical group dancing with a twist, called by Darlene Hamilton with a live band, the Whirled Peas.  There will be an introductory "Alice's tips & tricks for dancing & tea" to review some pointers on dancing from 2:15-2:30 pm, followed by the open dance session from 2:30-6:30 pm.  It will be a party to remember!  More details can be found here, and tickets can be purchased a few weeks before the event date at The Historical Tea & Dance Society page
