Costumer’s Guild West, Inc. Membership Benefits

Membership in our unique guild offers year-round opportunities to join fellow costume-making enthusiasts. Our diverse all-volunteer community hosts not only the world renowned annual convention Costume College®, but also offers many workshops (in-person and virtual), frequent meetups and picnics throughout the year, plus several weekly Zoom sewing circles to choose from.

A one-year membership includes:

  • Squeals and The Broadsheet, CGW's official digital newsletters which feature articles written by our members on events, costuming projects, techniques, book/movie/TV show recommendations, and upcoming events. (Print version options below);
  • Discounts for Costume College, CGW’s annual costuming arts convention;
  • Discounted tickets for The Time-Traveler’s Gala and The Fantasy Tea at Costume College;
  • Discounted rates for CGW sponsored events; e.g. The Spring Tea;
  • Discounted rates for CGW lectures and workshops throughout the year;
  • Research access to the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) Museum’s Collection including the Helen Larsen Exhibit;
  • Access to Members Only content on CGW’s website including past issues of Squeals;
  • CGW voting rights (for those 18 years and over);
  • Opportunity to serve on CGW Board of Directors.

~Individual Membership is $35 per year.

~Household Membership - is $35 per year, +$15 for each additional member living at the same address. If paying for the printed option, households receive only one copy of any mailings.

~Squeals CGW's monthly newsletter – a print version of the newsletter is available for an additional fee based on mailing address:

  • US mailing address - $55
  • Canada & Mexico mailing address - $73
  • International mailing address - $73
